George previously served as a facilitator for Spectrum’s Driver Alcohol Education Program and most recently as Regional Business Development Liaison for NERC where she was responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with referral sources.

“Amy has worked in addiction recovery for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge within the field. We are so delighted to have her back here at Spectrum,” said Kurt Isaacson, President and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems. “We look forward to her continued work in marketing our programs and assisting those in need of treatment.”

As Executive Director of Community Relations, George will oversee the admissions department and business development team at NERC. She will focus on nurturing and establishing relationships with referral sources while assisting families, communities, and service providers in building support networks and expanding quality aftercare options for NERC clients.

“I am so excited to be given the opportunity to work at Spectrum Health Systems once again,” shared George. “Working in behavioral healthcare for as long as I have, you begin to form an understanding that addiction can touch anyone, and that is what keeps me committed to the field. I am always looking for ways to better serve those who have been touched by it, and I am so happy to bring the experiences and knowledge I have gained back to a workplace that feels like home.”

George has served on many task forces and boards related to addiction and recovery, including the planning committee for the Boston Provider Liaison Association, a successful networking group for those working in the addiction treatment and behavioral health industry. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Anna Maria College.
