Spectrum Health Systems Opens Intake and Admissions Center in Westborough, Mass.

Published On: August 20th, 2024

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc., an innovative non-profit provider of evidence-based treatment for substance use and mental health disorders throughout Massachusetts, today announced the opening of its new admissions and intake facility. Later this year, Spectrum will open its new home office building on the Westborough property. Previously headquartered in Worcester, Mass., this expansion of Spectrum’s campus will allow for administration, intake and both inpatient and outpatient recovery services on the same campus, furthering Spectrum’s mission of increasing access to a full continuum of recovery care in the state.

“We’re committed to increasing access to a full continuum of recovery care services for individuals in need of care across Massachusetts and beyond, and this facilities initiative is a significant milestone in our progress towards this mission,” said Kurt Isaacson, president, and chief executive officer of Spectrum Health Systems. “Worcester has long been a wonderful location for our headquarters and still hosts a large portion of our healthcare system. Recentering our organization in Westborough will allow us to better serve our current and new clients, support our staff and enable our system to continue to grow.”

The center will offer a “one front door” approach to addiction treatment, where an individual can go to receive a full assessment and determination as to which level of care will best meet their individual needs.

“As the administration of behavioral health treatment evolves, so must providers in programming and facilities alike. The expansion of our infrastructure is critical to support Spectrum’s continuing growth, and to provide a dignified, professional setting for our clients and staff,” said Frank Hight, vice president, environment of care. “Co-locating our inpatient and outpatient services in one location central to our organization ensures we’re providing the highest level of care possible.”

Since originating in 1969, Spectrum Health Systems has grown to be New England’s largest non-profit provider of evidence-based treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. With the Westborough campus expansion, Spectrum can continue to care for its existing clients and offer services for new ones, ensuring the availability of a full range of resources for those beginning or currently on their recovery journey, all on one campus.

The intake and admissions building is currently open to the public, and the home office will be open by Fall 2024. Community members are encouraged to stop by 157 Oak Street, Westborough, MA to tour the new space.
