Putting People First

Cheryl Gallant’s extensive career in human resources began in the Midwest, where she held various HR management roles at UPS and Ameren, a major utility company. Upon relocating to Massachusetts, she transitioned into manufacturing, serving as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Coghlin Companies, a fourth-generation family-owned business with over 800 employees.

A Heart for Recovery

Gallant’s connection to addiction recovery stems from her husband’s career as a corrections officer, where he witnessed the devastating impact of substance misuse on individuals and families. This, combined with her professional experiences supporting employees through FMLA and other challenges, ignited a desire to contribute to the fight against addiction.

Her Inspiration to Serve

Gallant joined the Spectrum Health Systems Board of Directors, drawn by the organization’s unique approach and the dedication of its staff. She was particularly impressed by the “Spectrum Way,” a philosophy emphasizing personal connection and commitment to every individual served.

“Spectrum offered a chance to learn more about addiction and make a meaningful difference,” Gallant explained.
